At this school, teachers give you a mark out of 10 during the term – this is known as the bimonthly exam. And at the end of the term you have your end of term exams which are marked out of 100.

For bi monthly exams we recognize students that excelled in discipline and studies and students that showed good effort and improved performance.

Also for bimonthly exams we have what is known as a study plus, you can achieve a study plus as follows:

if your mark in a subject is between 6.5 and 8.4 you get 1 study plus

if it is between 8.5 and 9.4 you get 2 study pluses

and if it is between 9.5 and 10 you get 3 study pluses.

During the term teachers can also give you extra pluses for doing good deeds, assisting with something or however the teacher sees fit.

So we add the study pluses you get from each subject to the extra pluses to give us the total pluses.

You can also receive minuses for not following instructions, being out of uniform being rude etc.

So the minuses take away from the total pluses to give us the net pluses.

So to be recognised – for forms 1 to 3 you must have at least 12 net pluses and from this 12 at least 10 must come from study pluses. You must not fail 3 or more subjects and cannot receive 3 or more order/discipline marks.

for forms 4 and 5 (because less subjects and more work is done)

to be recognised – you must have at least 6 net pluses and from this 6 at least 4 must come from study pluses. Also you must not fail 3 or more subjects and cannot receive 3 or more order/discipline marks.

Houses are also recognised – example – houses with the most net pluses and houses that are most regular and punctual to school.

For end of term exams

We recognize students achieving the highest in a particular subject by class.

We recognise students coming first in class – meaning the highest percentage.

We recognise students obtaining an overall percentage of 65% and over.

Mark reading gives us a chance to recognise students, classes and houses that excelled in discipline and studies.
